About Home Office
The Home Office is one of the original great Departments of State and its role is fundamentally
important: to keep Britain’s streets safe and its borders secure. With a budget of £14.7bn, the Home Office leads on immigration and passports, drugs and crime policy, counter-extremism and counter-terrorism and works to ensure visible, responsive, and accountable policing in the UK.
The Public Safety Group works closely with partners across policing, the National Crime Agency, and fire and rescue services to ensure they are as efficient and effective as they can be in delivering front line public services. We are delivering the Emergency Services Mobile Communication Programme – one of the biggest and most complex national IT programmes to improve communications between police, fire and ambulance services. The new Emergency Services Network (ESN) has the potential to transform how Britain’s emergency services operate, providing first responders immediate access to life-saving data, images and information in real- time.

the ESMCP. The programme includes 50 parallel projects and with accountability for planning, reporting, risk management and governance of the programme and you will work closely with senior stakeholders to inform and drive forward our strategy and underpin the delivery of critical
outcomes.
The Person
As an experienced Programme Manager or with a grounding in relevant portfolio and project leadership, you will bring a track record within telecoms and other sectors that may also include
offshoring. You will have delivered large, complex projects and programmes, preferably as a supplier to, or within government. Adaptable, resilient and intellectually curious, you will be motivated by the potential for self-development and learning and with strong influencing skills, you will possess the confidence, gravitas and credibility to communicate and present complex,
technical information to a range non-technical audiences and stakeholders at executive level. With the ability to lead and manage partner contracts and large suppliers, you will be adept at developing and implementing strategies to deliver tangible outcomes, while ensuring value for money. A project or programme delivery qualification at degree level or equivalent, such as the
Project Leadership Programme, Prince 2 Certification or other recognised accreditation, will be considered essential.
