Drainage Project Manager
400 - 475 per day
Liverpool, Merseyside (Hybrid)

We are currently on the lookout for a Drainage Project Manager to join our team in the Liverpool area.
The Role:
- The primary function of this role is to project manage and deliver an Environment Agency funded Flood Defence Grant in Aid (FDGiA) project and to work closely with the Environment Agency and partner organisations.
- To ensure that effective procurement and delivery of highways drainage improvement works are delivered through partnership and contractual arrangements that provide effective, quality and value for money schemes and services.
- Provide high-quality project and programme management standards across the whole project lifecycle. Advise officers on the project cost, programme, risks, and issues.
- Lead and manage multi-disciplinary professional teams.
- Lead communications and relationships with clients and their stakeholders.
- Produce monthly reports including project programmes, risk registers etc.
- Implement effective and efficient communication tools.
- Develop delivery plans for projects, involve others and ensure objectives are met.
- Challenge the status quo and perform to a high standard in changing environments.
- Constantly pursue performance improvement.
The Candidate:
- Degree or formal qualification (HNC/HND) in Civil Engineering/other relevant discipline.
- Hold or be working towards a Project Management Qualification.
- Experience of managing NEC contracts.
- Significant highway and drainage experience including all associated procedures, policies and responsibilities. Experience of delivering NEC projects
- Experience of managing drainage schemes and projects funded by the Environment Agency
- Experience of Environment Agency projects and processes to gain and draw down funding
- Experience of working within Local Government and the governance processes.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritise and allocate workload to meet deadlines.
- Ability to make effective decisions and to support those decisions with effective argument and understanding.
- Ability to plan, allocate and evaluate work programmes.
- Able to work as part of a team, using own initiative when required.
