Position Available: Software Project Lead
Location: Hertfordshire & Dynamic Working Hours
Salary: Up to GBP75,000 + Generous Bonus & Very Good Pension Package
Experience needed: Experience of leading software projects within a complex, high-technology engineering industry e.g. defence, aerospace, automotive, robotics, electronics, space, avionics and similar. You would also need strong technical understanding of software development lifecycle and an understanding of UML and C, C++ and/or Ada languages
About the role
We are a leading defence company who are at the forefront of innovation in the industry and your work will have a direct impact on the safety and security of the UK & our allies. We are currently looking for a Software Project Lead to come in and lead the on time, on cost and on quality delivery of software for our key products.
You will take on the technical leadership of a small team of engineers, overseeing their daily tasks while fulfilling dual roles as a design authority and project manager. Your responsibilities will encompass collaborating with clients across diverse domains such as financial management, system design, electronics design, safety, security, and quality assurance. The software, developed in Ada and Rhapsody, will require your support in architecting, designing, implementing, and testing missile subsystem software within the team.
What we need from you:
- Proven ability to technically manage a team of software developers
- Project management skills to ensure good planning, delivery and cost control of software
- A good understanding of software and the software development lifecycle
- Understanding of UML and C, C++ and/or Ada languages
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels in the company
- The ability to elicit and understand requirements and available design solutions so that you can produce accurate and cost-effective estimates of work to be undertaken.
