Michael Page Logistics are looking to recruit a Transport Operations Manager for our client in the Heathrow area.

Our client is a market leader in the provision of hazardous goods. An opportunity has become available to lead the team within a busy and fast paced environment.

Description

You will have responsibility of overseeing the safe and cost effective utilisation of all drivers and equipment at site, ensuring that the customer service requirements are fully met and in line with the business objectives. You will perform well under pressure and have experience of dealing with difficult situations. You will be able to organise your own workload and set priorities and actions to reach objectives while being able to plan and optimise time efficiently and effectively. Safety is integral in this role and a great knowledge of transport compliance is essential. You will be responsible for KPI's ensuring site spends remain in line with budgets and fuel efficiency and ensuring that contract specific targets are met or exceeded.

Profile

Candidates wishing to be considered for the role will be able to to meet the following criteria:

• Previous experience of leading a team within a transport department or broader logistics environment
• Excellent people management skills
• Past experience of working in a unionised environment would be beneficial.
• Have the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong knowledge of transport compliance including an understanding of Driver Hours Regulations.
