Project Manager - Birmingham - Factory Automation & Robotics
Project Manager sought to join a leading provider of configurable robotic solutions & bespoke factory automation systems.
The successful Project Manager will manage project budgets ranging from 50k- 2m from initial concept through to completion, ensuring customer's order, and are designed, built, and delivered on time, within budget, to meet the customer's high expectation and are "Right First Time".
The Package:
Salary - 40,000 - 50,000.
08:00 - 16:30 Monday to Thursday & 08:00 - 13:30 Friday
Company pension.
On-site parking.
25 days holiday plus statutory days.
The Role:
- Lead, co-ordinate, and control projects from Launch through to After-Sales.
- Ensure project scope is fully understood and agreed by both customer and the business.
- Plan, organise and manage customer meetings and design reviews.
- Manage the preparation of FMEA, hazard identification and risk assessments.
- Prepare, issue, maintain and report timing plans for all phases of the project.
- Generate project budget, reporting any variances and expected cash flow.
- Review and audit the progress and quality at suppliers.
- Communicate effectively with all departments.
- Be fully involved in the machine building phase in conjunction with the Operations team.
- Drive problem solving.
- Ensure design changes arising at the shop floor stage are correctly controlled, authorised and recorded.
- Arrange and organise pre-production trials.
- Retain project ownership beyond the delivery phase into the warranty and after sales phase.
Requirements:
- Preferable to be apprentice trained and / or hold a suitable engineering qualification.
- Possess several year's relevant experience in a project leader or management role within an engineering industry, ideally within automation or robotics.
- Be an excellent communicator both inside and outside the company, with good listening and presentation skills.
- Possess strong leadership skills, while being assertive and supportive.
