Wood currently have an opportunity for a Process Project Manager to assist in the production and management of plans for the development of Wood's technical expertise, while also providing technical leadership and management of process activities to any project in the refining / chemical / oil & gas and LNG project portfolio.


The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, able to work independently, and have demonstrable leadership qualities in order to effectively and efficiently manage a project's technical objectives and execution strategy from a process perspective to optimise profit potential.

* Leading, motivating and coaching project process teams, including those on refining, petrochemical, oil & gas and LNG projects, as business needs dictate
* Manage the process team (typically process, safety, environmental and process control functions) and be responsible to the Project Manager for the execution of all the Process Engineering work required to satisfy contractual requirements
* Report back to Process Department Group Managers on project progress, including the performance of the process engineers assigned to the project
* Responsible for technical accuracy and quality of process design in the field of expertise and others as business needs dictate
* Demonstrate customer focus and be aware of, and respond to, customer needs, whilst still achieving project and corporate objectives
* Accept responsibility, and provide technical expertise, for the development and maintenance of expertise on all process aspects of refining / petrochemical / oil & gas and LNG technology
* Keep up-to-date with the latest technical developments in the fields of expertise and lead in developing appropriate technical solutions for specific project issues
* Provide input to project innovation reviews or delegate where appropriate
* Provide technical expertise and support to Sales & Marketing (including proposal preparation) and Wood affiliates for winning of new business when requested by Process Department Group Managers
* Advise the Process Technology Manager of deficiencies and possible changes to established Wood design methods, standards and data
* Review and audit projects, and others where business needs dictate, to identify technical and performance risks, assist in the development of action plans for mitigation and ensure implementation

Skills / Qualifications

* Chemical Engineering degree (minimum)
* Chartered Engineer status
* Ability to demonstrate proven experience and expertise in the field of refining / petrochemicals / oil & gas and LNG gained through project execution in this market sector
* Ability to demonstrate competencies applicable to the position through their career path and experiences
* Demonstrates enthusiasm together with the ability to motivate teams to meet targets
* Capacity to bring out the best in teams by different motivational approaches
* Ability to inspire and to motivate the team towards achieving challenging goals
* Ability to develop and sell the vision for managing project issues
* Show commercial acumen, while balancing technical and commercial risks
