Salary: £73,150 per annum
Hours:  Full-time, 37 hours per week. However, we will also consider job-share, compressed hours and part-time hours (no less than 0.8 FTE).
Contract: Permanent
Location: Home-based with travel to CQC Offices as required

We are now looking for a Deputy Director of Programme & Project Delivery to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week (flexible working options are available).

What you will bring

To be considered as our Deputy Director of Programme & Project Delivery, you will need:
- Experience of managing and delivering several programmes or projects through their life-cycles including business case development, planning, resource management, budgeting and cost management, risk and issues management, business change and implementation, benefits management and knowledge management and transfer
- Extensive experience working with stakeholders including SROs covering engagement, communication, influencing and risks and benefits management
- Experience of managing commercial relationships, including procurement processes and contract management
- Experience of managing, developing and coaching staff
- Experience of managing matrix style teams
- A bachelor’s degree in a related subject such as business, finance, project management, engineering or equivalent experience

What you’ll be doing

As the  Deputy Director of Programme & Project Delivery, you will lead and ensure the successful delivery of a defined set of programmes and projects.

Maintaining robust governance and assurance processes, you’ll work closely with the Deputy Director for Change Portfolio Office to monitor progress, manage risks and ensure the organisation is ready for change.

You’ll lead the development and approval of business cases, working with key stakeholders to secure alignment and agreement through the necessary committees and boards.

Providing leadership and developing a strong delivery-focused team, you’ll ensure projects remain on track, on time and within budget

Additionally, you will:

- Lead the creation and management of business readiness criteria across projects/programmes
- Identify and mitigate strategic and operational risks
- Develop and lead the application of best practice change management
- Set project controls and monitor performance
- Undertake regular reporting for senior stakeholders
