About the role
The StreetScene team are responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the public realm within the district of East Devon – covering everything from beaches, parks, sports pitches and ornamental gardens to public toilets and street bins in stunning surroundings.
We are looking for a dynamic, experienced and outcome focused project officer to join our multi-disciplinary team. The role will require project management of multiple business critical projects from concept to completion in a number of key service areas relating to our service, our depot, fleet and operations. You will be responsible for planning and achieving milestones, engaging stakeholders, obtaining resources, monitoring budgets, maintaining records and communicating progress as well as supporting the embedding of outcomes across the service.
About you
As a professional, experienced project officer, you will be methodical and organised and able to plan your busy workload to meet conflicting deadlines. You will be competent in the use of Microsoft Office including MS Project and capable of learning other IT applications. You will be adept at communicating with people at all levels, and able to build rapport and credibility quickly.
If you have a passion for delivering a professional high level of service, the skills to enhance systems and processes and the experience to build and maintain excellent working relations we would be delighted to hear from you. An accredited project manager qualification is essential, along with relevant industry experience. Travel throughout the district is required so a valid driving license and own transport is essential subject to any adjustments in accordance with the Equality Act.

Our recent Local Government Association Peer Challenge highlighted that ‘EDDC is a great place to work, with engaged staff and members’ and that’s certainly true! You will be part of a Gold Investors in People (IiP) organisation which works together with local people to create great value services and an outstanding community, economy and environment in which people want to live, work, visit and enjoy now, and for future generations. And with our wide range of health and well-being benefits, our highly flexible and collaborative hybrid Worksmart working arrangements as well as our commitment to continuous learning and development, you can be confident of joining a dedicated community of colleagues who are Happy, Healthy and Here.
