Job Responsibilities:
- Manage customer-funded and internal development/production programs.
- Assist with bid/scoping phases and oversee the entire project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
- Coordinate with various departments including Sales, Engineering, Operations, Procurement, Quality, and Finance.
- Manage schedules and resources to ensure on-time project delivery.
- Directly liaise with customers to fulfill contractual obligations.
- Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with export regulations for delivered equipment.
- Report on project progress, risks, and financial status to senior leadership.
- Support governance, continuous improvement, and process optimization.
- Help with bid preparation and manage projects requiring customer-funded development.
- Oversee subcontractors to ensure they meet contractual obligations.
- Act as the main point of contact for project status and performance updates.
- Estimate project costs and prepare schedules for bids.
- Facilitate communication across project teams, stakeholders, and other departments.
- Monitor progress against project plans and control budgets to avoid overruns.
- Take corrective action to stay on track with project timelines and financial targets.
- Organize Factory Acceptance Tests for deliverables.
- Coordinate equipment dispatch, delivery, and commissioning as required.
- Attend production and procurement meetings to ensure timely output.
- Travel within the UK and overseas when necessary, often at short notice.
Experience:
- HND or degree in project management or relevant experience.
- APM qualification is advantageous.
- 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in engineering development.
- Experience managing projects from initiation to closure.
- Budget management and forecasting experience.
- Software development project management experience is highly desirable.
