Brilliant S. Cheshire Hospital looking for a MEP PM

JOB PURPOSE:
The post holder is required to manage specific Capital projects and support the Senior Capital Projects Manager in the planning, organisation, and monitoring of all aspects of work relating to a project.

The role will encompass project support, specifically, managing Gantt charts, information and work packages mainly in connection with RAAC, but also some space planning.
The post holder will liaise closely with clinical staff at all levels, Directors and Managers of the Trust, staff external to the Trust and supplier representatives.

Projects within the Trust are managed using Microsoft Project.

SERVICE DELIVERY
1. The ability to develop good working relationships with all staff.2. To develop good working relationships with non-clinical departments, e.g. Supplies, Finance.3. To act as the focal point for all communications relating to specific projects, and to assist the more senior Projects Managers as required in all aspects of communication.
4. Ensure that constituent stakeholders are actively engaged, motivated, and involved in the projects and to monitor and report on performance management issues.5. To promote projects across the Trust by way of good communication, both verbal and written, including compilation, and presenting information to diverse groups of staff.6. Provide advice, guidance, and support in your area of responsibility to internal and external stakeholders.7. The ability to communicate with disparate groups of staff, both internally and externally of the importance of projects & monitor activities against the master Gantt chart & influence the delivery of tasks to specified timelines.
Escalate issues as they arise.8. Develop working relationships with existing and potential suppliers, external organisations and Health Economy Partners.9. Facilitate Project meetings and represent the more senior Project Managers as required.10. For minor projects, be responsible for ensuring the gathering and analysing of a range of information options and proposed solutions.
Presenting options with a preferred solution for approval / ratification to the relevant Project Board.11. For minor projects, be responsible for ensuring relevant documentation has been completed by the person requesting the work.12. Understand, document, and suggest improvements to existing business processes.13. To work with the relevant stakeholders (external & internal) to analyse and resolve issues encountered during the project to ensure a successful outcome.14. To assist in the development and review of policies & procedures appertaining to the role.15. To ensure all documentation is validated and complete to enable work packages to be implemented with the master Gantt chart.18. To compile progress and exception reports as required.19. To compile and distribute project management documentation as required.20. To produce, distribute and maintain notes of all Project meetings and follow-up actions as required.21. Set up and maintain project files, including management of version control.22. Provide full support to the Senior Capital Project Managers and the wider Capital Development Team.
23. To fulfil any other reasonable duties as requested.24. The duties and responsibilities of this post will change over time and will be reviewed on an annual basis as part of the post holder's personal development plan and performance review.
PLANNING & ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS

  • To manage specific projects from cost, time, and resource perspectives.
  • Organise and chair as necessary, specific project related meetings including provision of supporting documentation as required.
  • To organise and attend site visits and product demonstrations as requested.
  • To assist in planning and monitoring of activities relating to specific projects in agreement with more senior Project Managers.
  • To have working knowledge of the use of project planning tools and software.
  • To update project plans and advise on any deviations from the planned timescales and any adjustments required.
  • To provide comprehensive administrative support for project meetings where required, e.g. Project Board, Project Teams.
  • For specific projects, ensure that Project Teams achieve milestones, and that agreed activity has been completed on time.
    Escalate issues to the Senior Capital Development Managers as required.
  • Assist in the identification of training requirements for specific projects.
  • To organise and attend pre-start meetings and user Groups as required and understand issues and proposed solutions.
  • Produce and communicate project milestones and plans for specific projects and ensure that these are made fully available to all affected Trust departments.
  • To set up and maintain project files and establish robust document control procedures.
  • Assist the project team with problem-solving to resolve issues both pre- and post-go live.
    Analyse issues and make judgements, providing timely and cost-effective solutions.
  • To be able to put into practice new ideas and working methods as required.
  • Responsible for supporting the development and agreement of operational policies and procedures in line with role.
  • Identify and evaluate changes to practice which impact your own area.

  • MANAGERIAL/LEADERSHIP
    1. Monitor allocated staff/external resources and costs associated with minor works and capital projects.2. Take responsibility for overall progress and use of resources for minor/capital projects and initiate corrective action or escalate to the relevant senior manager where necessary.3. Lead project teams, allocate and monitor tasks and motivate staff.
    GOVERNANCE
    1. Record, monitor and manage all identified risks and issues in relation to specific projects.
    Support the Senior Capital Development Managers in advising the Project Board and other stakeholders of the impact, likelihood and severity of all risks and issues. Receive and action feedback from Senior Capital Development Managers.2. In conjunction with the Senior Capital Project Managers, make decisions regarding the escalation of issues and provide an impact assessment and options required to address issues.3. Ensure compliance with trust policies, procedures and guidelines for self and others, by taking action and alerting the Senior Capital Project Managers if project development appears to contravene policy.
