Mechanical Project Manager (Hybrid) - South East London - 350/day (Umbrella)
We are seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to join a Local Authority team on a contract basis, based in South East London with hybrid working opportunities. This role is critical in providing technical expertise for both planned and reactive maintenance solutions on large, complex, and sensitive projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the supply chain, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standards while maintaining safety and compliance across the estate.

This role is critical in providing technical expertise for both planned and reactive maintenance solutions on large, complex, and sensitive projects. The successful candidate will work closely with the supply chain, ensuring maintenance tasks are completed to the highest standards while maintaining safety and compliance across the estate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expert technical guidance for planned and reactive maintenance on mechanical assets.
- Oversee the maintenance supply chain, ensuring all works meet quality and compliance standards.
- Ensure the estate is safely maintained, adhering to relevant legislative and regulatory provisions.
- Lead the scoping of reactive maintenance projects, assessing options to deliver best value for money.
- Design solutions for planned works, including technical specifications, layouts, and working drawings for mechanical services.
- Assist in contract management, supporting decisions on maintenance delivery, and validate contractor work through site checks.
- Ability to assess maintenance works across multiple disciplines, ensuring compliance with statutory and quality requirements.
- Detailed, up-to-date knowledge of building legislation, statutory requirements, Health and Safety standards, and CDM regulations.
- Extensive technical expertise in mechanical and electrical maintenance, including diagnosing system defects and specifying remedial works.
- Strong ability to prepare design documents, technical specifications, and manage tender/contract documents.
- Operational experience in project management, building maintenance, or estate management, ideally within the public sector.
- Proven experience in contract management or procurement.
- Demonstrated ability to review and assess technical specifications and designs.
- Must hold a current driving license and have access to a vehicle for work-related travel.
