At our new, purpose-built manufacturing facility near Hailsham, East Sussex we have entered an exciting new phase in our development as we embark on an ambitious expansion programme.

We are now recruiting for an Engineering Operations Manager to lead Vacgen s activities in production, quality and manufacturing engineering.

You will ensure a consistent and detailed approach using Root Cause Analysis and Problem-Solving Tools such as 8D or 5Whys, you will improve quality in line with customer expectations, industry standards and our company objectives!

This is a pivotal and vital role in our organisation, your main accountabilities will be:

  • Reducing internal and external NCRs YoY by 20%.
  • Increasing efficiencies YoY by 20%.
  • Reducing warranty complaints YoY by 20%.
  • Reducing scrap YoY by 20%.
  • Completing routings according to service level agreements.

In order to be successful in this role you must have:

  • A degree in Engineering: preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • Five years experience working in a similar manufacturing environment.
  • A solid understanding of using Quality and Process management tools and methodology, including 5S/6S, flowcharts, VSM, Kaizen, Pareto, WCPC, 8D, Cause & Effect, Ishikawa, 5 whys etc.
  • Previous experience of leading small multi-functional teams to drive results and close out issues.
  • Must have strong communication skills (both up and down stream and external contacts) with the ability to train others, facilitate quality events and meetings across functional teams.
  • A track record of completing projects on time on quality in a complex environment.
  • A track record of can-do taking ownership for outcomes beyond immediate disciplinary control.
