Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: East Sussex
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: 42,333 per annum
Working Pattern: Full-Time
Our client, a reputable organisation within the public sector, is seeking a talented Operations Manager to join their team. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in driving the overall success of the designated areas of service delivery, ensuring the provision of high-quality services for adults.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead responsibility for the appropriate delivery of services within the designated service area, in adherence to statutory requirements, company policies, procedures, and quality standards.
2. Manage the budgetary performance of the designated service unit within the Departmental scheme of delegation.
3. Ensure performance aligns with the Performance Assessment Framework, Performance Indicators, and agreed targets.
4. Oversee the operational aspects of the County Council's personnel-related policies and procedures, including grievance and disciplinary procedures.
5. Recruit and retain qualified staff, providing ongoing training and supervision to enhance their effectiveness.
6. Contribute to the development of departmental policies and procedures to improve service quality.
7. Administer the Complaints Procedure as per departmental guidelines, conducting investigations and implementing necessary remedial actions.
8. Report problems and service achievements to the management team.
9. Implement the Performance Development Scheme across the managed service.
10. Achieve annual performance targets for the designated service unit and personal development targets.
11. Provide management support to departmental out-of-hours services, participating in a rota if required.
12. Undertake any other duties assigned by the manager/supervisor, ensuring adherence to departmental policies, practises, procedures, and standards, including Equal Opportunities/Anti-Discriminatory practise.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar managerial role within service delivery with adults or related field.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a team.
- Excellent financial acumen, with experience in managing budgets.
- Proven ability to meet performance targets and drive continuous improvement.
- Sound knowledge of relevant statutory requirements and compliance standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to represent the organisation both internally and externally.
- Proficiency in utilising management tools and software.
