A global manufacturer has a new vacancy for an Operations Manager to join it s recently opened manufacturing site near Hereford. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all production & operation activities, ensuring that manufacturing processes are cost-effective, quality standards met, and adhere to safety regulations. Applicants are sought who have experience working in a complex engineering/manufacturing environment.
Commutable from: Hereford, Ledbury, Worcester, Tewkesbury, Ross on Wye, Leominster.
Suitable for: Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Production Manager, Operations Director, Manufacturing Director, Production Director.
The Role
Plan and organize production schedules to meet production goals and deadlines.
Assess project and resource requirements to optimize efficiency.
Ensure that production is cost-effective and adheres to quality standards.
Monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed.
Manage and supervise a team of production staff and operators.
Work with customers and engineering team on new product development and launch.
Identify areas for process improvements and implement solutions for increased efficiency.
Oversee maintenance of equipment, ensuring optimal production capacity and minimizing downtime.
Ensure all activities are carried out in accordance with all Health & Safety legislation,
Ensure measures are taken to achieve cost reduction opportunities and reduce waste
The Candidate
Proven experience as a Production, Manufacturing or Operations Manager in a complex manufacturing/engineering environment.
Excellent leadership and team management skills.
Knowledge of quality control and safety standards.
Good understanding of budgeting and cost control principles.
Ability to manage complex projects, troubleshoot problems, and meet tight deadlines.
Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen).
