Advances in technology have continually enabled us to achieve more in the championing of England`s historic environment. You will be driving forward our open source Arches platform project, focussed on Greater London Historic Environment Records. This cutting edge platform provides access to a comprehensive database of images and related content to housing developers, local authorities and other internal and external stakeholders.
You will be collaborating with a variety of stakeholders, from the external project sponsor and internal subject matter experts, through to the outsourced development team and overarching programme board. With your experience of geospatial data, archives and image banks and an agile background, you will be leading the evolution of the Arches open source platform, working closely with the outsourced developers based in America. Picking this project up at this key stage, you will lead this high profile project through its Beta stage. With your project management experience and exposure to historic and heritage communities, you will enjoy working as part of a team and building relationships across all levels in order to deliver a revolutionary project which will change the face of geospatial data access.
You`ll have confident people management skills, be an excellent written and oral communicator and hold a formal project management qualification (PRINCE2 desirable). With the ability to effectively plan and write clear project documents and plans, you will also be a natural at managing stakeholders and prioritising workloads. You will be comfortable delivering concise and articulate non-technical progress updates to both the internal team and our international colleagues.
Please note this role will require travel to London, a willingness to attend out-of-hours calls and meetings and flexibility with your working schedule to accommodate the time difference with America to ensure effective communications.
