We are seeking an Engineering Project Manager to deliver and manage large engineering projects up to GBP5 million, ensuring alignment with Group Engineering project delivery process.
You will be expected to plan, manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously. Whilst focusing on cost savings, operational efficiency and ahdere to safety & quality standards.
Key Accountabilities:
- Project Management (from conception to delivery):
- Define project specifications & prepare RFP/RFQ documents
- Iidentify and mitigate project risks & opprtunities
- Develop detailed project plans and financial spend profiles
- manage multiple projects from inception to completion.
- Operational Performance/Continuous Improvement:
- Assess and communicate post-project benefits, conduct lessons learnt activitiea for future project improvement.
- Lead onboarding and training for new equipment to maximise performance.
- Develop cost saving-saving inititatives and principles for cost optimisation.
- Safety/Quality/GMP Compliance:
- Ensure all asset purchases comply with UK/European standards
- Manage installation safely, and conduct cross-functional risk assessments for new installations.
- Develop validation plans & complete qualification activities for new assets (DQ,IQ/OQ/PQ)
- Strategic Planning: Analyse current and future business needs for assets, contribute to capital expenditure budgeting, and develop compelling cases for asset investment.
- Communication:
- Build strong cross-functional relationships
- Effectively communicate opportunities, risks, and benefits of investments, and lead cross-functional teams and supplier collaborations to deliver projects successfully.
Engineering Project Manager Competencies:
- Qualifications: Degree-level education.
- Experience: Proven experience in the FMCG sector, particularly in large capex project delivery (preferably in aerosols).
- Skills: Ability to work cross-functionally, understand quality, health & safety, and environmental requirements for installations, deliver projects, resolve issues, and apply lean engineering techniques. Commercial awareness and a good understanding of financial systems and controls are also essential.
This role requires maintaining strong relationships within the business and with key capital equipment suppliers to ensure timely and budgeted project delivery. Effective inter-departmental communication and collaboration are crucial.
