Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HMO Specialist Project Manager to lead a key project for a Local Authority in the Midlands. This is a dynamic role focused on enforcement, dawn raids, and ensuring compliance within the HMO sector. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing a project team, coordinating enforcement activities, and working closely with various internal and external stakeholders to deliver outcomes in line with the authority s HMO regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the project team focused on HMO enforcement.
- Plan and coordinate dawn raids and other enforcement actions.
- Oversee compliance with HMO licensing and ensure properties meet all regulatory standards.
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners, including legal teams and enforcement officers.
- Ensure effective resource management, project tracking, and reporting.
- Provide expert guidance and technical support on HMO-related matters.
- Develop strategies to address non-compliance and take corrective actions.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and updates for senior management and relevant committees.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Extensive HMO enforcement experience within a Local Authority setting.
- Proven track record in leading enforcement actions and managing dawn raids.
- Strong understanding of HMO legislation, licensing requirements, and housing standards.
- Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with experience liaising with external agencies and legal teams.
- Ability to work autonomously and make sound decisions under pressure.
- A strong focus on compliance, risk management, and delivering high-quality results.
Desirable:
- Experience managing large-scale enforcement projects.
- Relevant qualifications in project management (e.g., PRINCE2) or housing standards.
