A leading conservation specialist in London and the South East of England is seeking a Project Manager. This is an excellent opportunity to work on some of the UK s most notable landmarks, including Grade-listed buildings, scheduled monuments, World Heritage Sites, parochial churches, country estates, and modest memorials, with 90% of their 2025 workload already secured.

Their services include stone conservation, facade cleaning, graffiti removal, statue protection, historic flooring, joinery, leadwork, brickwork, copper, zinc, and steel work, decorative surfaces, mosaics, and more.

Project Manager Role Overview:

The Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the successful delivery of restoration and heritage projects. Working closely with the Contracts Managers, Operations Directors, and Commercial Team, the Project Manager will ensure the efficient and profitable execution of work, overseeing day-to-day on-site activities, coordinating subcontractors and suppliers, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee multiple jobs simultaneously, ensuring all work is carried out according to specifications, drawings, and method statements. Ensure all operatives are properly briefed on their tasks.
  • Coordinate and control subcontractors and suppliers in conjunction with the Contracts Manager/Site Manager.
  • Implement and enforce the company s Health & Safety and Quality Management policies, ensuring compliance with CDM regulations and maintaining appropriate records.
  • Act as a key point of contact with clients, maintaining clear and professional communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage project-related correspondence, including valuing works, keeping detailed records, and informing the Contracts Manager/Operations Director of relevant matters.
  • Work closely with the Contracts Manager to support the efficient servicing of the project and the effective dissemination of information.
  • Facilitate communication and discipline among the on-site workforce and project management team.
  • Promote the best interests of the company at all times and undertake additional tasks as reasonably assigned by the Contracts Manager/Operations Director.
What we need from a Project Manager:
  • Relevant construction-related qualification, e.g., NVQ Level 6.
  • Relevant CSCS Card.
  • SMSTS certification.
  • Good technical knowledge with a solid understanding of commercials.
  • Preferably have restoration/heritage or masonry experience, but open to candidates from main contracting, refurbishment, or trades backgrounds (e.g., brickwork or carpentry).
  • Solid understanding of construction methodologies, specifications, and drawings.
  • Proven experience in managing health and safety standards on-site and compliance with CDM regulations.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.
  • Ability to maintain accurate project records and manage correspondence efficiently.
  • Strong leadership skills, capable of coordinating site teams and fostering a collaborative working environment.
What's on offer?
  • Competitive salary up to GBP75,000 with discretionary bonuses, typically around GBP10,000 per annum (subject to performance).
  • Holiday entitlement of 21 days plus bank holidays, increasing yearly with length of service up to 30 days.
  • Be part of a company known for its expertise, high-quality workmanship, and sensitive approach to building care.
  • Work on some of the UK s most prestigious and historically significant projects.
  • Collaborate with a passionate and skilled team dedicated to preserving the nation s heritage.
  • Based out of modern offices in Vauxhall, with flexibility to work from other locations. While office/site-based work is preferred, remote working options can be considered if necessary.
