This is an exciting opportunity to join a busy finance team working for one of Glasgow's most prestigious employers. Working within central finance, this role gives the successful candidate the opportunity to influence wider stakeholders within the business and help drive financial controls and continuous improvement. This role is available on a permanent basis and has a number of excellent benefits available, such as final salary pension and 42 days annual leave.
Your new role
Within this varied role you will be responsible for finance operations management, delivering an excellent service, whilst ensuring adequate cost controls are in place. You will lead and manage the finance operations team and plan and organise work which aligns to the finance strategy. You will manage a team of 3, and will help empower the team leaders to make informed decisions and drive change.
Process improvement is key, and you will support a culture of continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for robust monthly finance reporting including variance analysis and commentary. You will ensure that the treasury function is compliant and will review external party returns. You will also play a key role in risk management and control, ensuring the Finance Operations Control Framework is adhered to and standard operations procedural documentation is fit for purpose, whilst ensuring robust controls and governance are in place. You will also have the opportunity to get involved in ad-hoc project work.
What you'll need to thrive
You will have good experience in a similar role and will be qualified via ACCA, CA, ACA, CIMA, CIPFA and will have post-qualified experience leading a team. With 3 direct reports and a team of 30 in total, you will have good leadership skills and the ability to help empower your team. You will also have good technical skills, although the ability to deal with a range of stakeholders across the organisation is also key. There are lots of opportunity to drive change, so experience in this area or an excitement to make continuous improvements is also key.
