Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Bias Project Manager to join our clients team at Heathrow Airport, working with a well-known fit-out sub-contractor that specialises in delivering high-quality fit-out projects across various airport areas.
This role will focus on overseeing and managing the electrical elements of fit-out projects within terminals, offices, retail shops, and other airport facilities.
The successful candidate will take ownership of the electrical services aspect of our fit-out projects, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management: Oversee all electrical aspects of fit-out projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
- Planning and Coordination: Work closely with other trades, site managers, and subcontractors to ensure the electrical installation integrates smoothly with the overall fit-out works.
- Budget Control: Monitor and control project costs, ensuring financial targets are met. Liaise with the commercial team for cost estimation, tendering, and procurement of electrical materials and services.
- Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure that all electrical installations comply with relevant building regulations, health & safety standards, and client specifications.
- Client Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders, particularly for all electrical-related queries, updates, and approvals.
- Team Management: Manage electricians, apprentices, and subcontractors on-site, ensuring efficient delivery of the electrical works.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, particularly those relating to electrical services.
- Reporting: Regularly update senior management on project progress, financial status, and any challenges encountered.
- Handover: Ensure smooth project handover with all electrical works completed to specification and signed off by clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience
- Electrical Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation, BSth Edition, or equivalent.
- Project Management Experience: Proven experience as a Project Manager with an electrical bias, ideally in commercial or retail fit-out projects.
- Previous Airport Experience: Experience working in airport environments is highly desirable, particularly within live terminals.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong knowledge of electrical systems, design, and installation procedures, including lighting, power distribution, and fire alarm systems.
- Health & Safety: Understanding of CDM regulations, site safety protocols, and best practices in managing electrical works in high-security environments.
- IT Proficiency: Ability to use project management software, Microsoft Office Suite, and CAD for reviewing electrical drawings.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to manage client expectations and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.
