Our client, one of the UK's leading public research universities, is currently recruiting an Operations Manager for their London campus. This is a permanent role focused on delivering high-quality operational support services. The role will primarily be based onsite, with the flexibility to work from home one day per week.

As Operations Manager, you will work closely with the Chief Operating Officer, internal teams across the campus, university colleagues, and external partners to ensure the smooth and efficient day-to-day management of the campus. You will be responsible for making critical decisions, managing operations, and driving change where necessary. This includes evaluating and improving current systems, practices, and service delivery, ensuring operations run effectively and safely.

The post holder will be accountable for delivering top-tier support services, leading and managing the operations team, coordinating contracted services, and promoting customer service excellence. Specific areas of responsibility include:

  • Operational Delivery
  • Emergency Planning
  • Financial Management
  • Performance Management

The successful candidate will have held a management-level position in a similar setting, ideally within higher education or a comparable organisation. Experience managing large, complex projects or events is essential, as is a strong background in preparing reports, developing business cases, and understanding the implications of non-compliance with health and safety regulations. The ability to lead a team, motivate staff, and maximise performance is also crucial.
