40 Brand New Construction Project Management Roles - Entry Grade To Experienced

Great Britain's electricity infrastructure is undergoing an ambitious, exciting and vital transformation. Together with industry, we are creating a cleaner, greener system, one that protects the planet and serves generations to come.

As part of this transformation, two major business units at National Grid have created 40 brand new roles, spanning 3 staff levels.

Strategic Infrastructure (S.I) was set up to thrust our transformation forward and is focused on major projects across every part of the UK.

S.I is at the very centre of the Grid Grid Upgrade. You may have spotted our adverts recently!

Customer Connections deliver projects connecting power stations, wind farms, solar farms and battery storage providing clean and affordable energy. Other connections include giga factories and data centres, transforming our every day lives.

You’ll work as part of a project team on a singular large project or multiple critical connections.

Our roles are suitable for recent graduates or earlier careers professionals in Project Management, through to Senior Project Managers who may have worked on large, complex build and infrastructure projects.

We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.

Most of our opportunities are geographically hybrid and we are happy to discuss preferences to fit personal and work life commitments together.

  • Knowledge of managing multiple projects and stakeholders.
  • Able to influence at a senior level.
  • Commercial acumen and strong negotiations skills.
  • A passion for working in a busy environment with numerous activities running in parallel.
  • A passion or knowledge of the energy industry.

What You’ll Do

  • You will support consenting for nationally significant infrastructure projects

  • Working across the wider project team you will support with the development of key regulatory submissions

  • You’ll Identify potential risks and opportunities within the project(s).

  • Enabling project governance and control, you will track the performance and progress of projects.

  • You will lead change management for the project(s)

  • You’ll ensure project reporting is robust and fits the needs of key stakeholders

  • Driving active management of technical queries and issues, you’ll manage until timely conclusion

  • Some financial may be required, level dependant

  • Procurement / contract management and supply chain engagement is regularly required

What you’ll get

A competitive salary between £45,000 – £74,000 dependent on capability.

Additionally a £4,500 supplement is available for several roles as well as new fully electric or hybrid company vehicle depending on the mileage associated with your project (s)

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%. You will also have access to a number of flexible benefits such as Bank Holiday swapping, a share incentive plan, salary sacrifice car and technology schemes, support via employee assistance lines and matched charity giving to name a few.
