We currently have a vacancy for a CIS (Communication Information Systems) Project Officer to deliver specific project management tasks to support the CIS department across Northwood MOD site.

 

Working at Skanska as a CIS Project Officer as part of our facilities management team based at Northwood HQ, you will:

 

  • Support the CIS Ops Manager as their nominated deputy during periods of absence including day to day management of the CIS Ops Team and the completion of monthly management reporting tasks when required

  • Be responsible for Project management of CIS change management including small works, Northwood Change Requests (NCR’s) and Change Notices for the site CIS infrastructure

  • Be responsible for supervision of staff and sub-contractors undertaking contract deliverables in accordance with the Skanska polices for delivery of CIS project

  • Implement and update service specific strategies, systems & procedures for compliance with the contract requirements and mitigate operational risks

  • Effectively manage staff and sub-contractors ensuring work is carried out in line with the company procedures, statutory and Authority requirements

  • Manage and control the individual works budgets within delegated obligations including budget control, preparation of quotations.

  • Manage and supervise specialist suppliers when engaged to carry out CIS related works.

  • Carry out quality assurance checks on all works and ensure that all required tests are completed and related documentation issued in accordance with project timescales to ensure compliance with JSP 604 Leaflet 4800 and the SCIDA framework document

  • Ensure statutory and Authority compliance of assets, systems, processes and working environments.

  • Optimise the efficient and cost effective use of estate assets in consideration to lifecycle management

  • Prepare and provide all required management reports for the projects managed

  • Liaise with the Authority and other service delivery teams for the delivery of works activities; provide technical advice and support on CIS related matters

  • Provide operational support to the site CIS infrastructure services

  • Ensure that where appropriate the CDM 2015 regulations are applied

  • Ensure that all tasks and works that require a Permit to Work (PTW) are planned and co-ordinated with all parties

  • On completion of project works ensure that the CAFM asset database, site record drawings and O&M’s are updated and ensure that any required training is delivered to the site maintenance teams

  • In conjunction with the Quantity Surveyor ensure that all costs and variations are logged for final account purposes and that approved limits of liability are not exceeded

  • Liaise with client staff and other service delivery teams for the delivery of works activities including access and agreement of site Disruption Notices

  • Assist with regular reviews of the Lifecycle plan and update/amend as necessary to reflect any changes in the site assets

  • Monitor suppliers and Skanska staff to ensure compliance with the Skanska IFE (Injury Free Environment) health and safety processes and procedures

  • Initiate, co-ordinate and implement inductions, team talks, task briefing, toolbox talks etc. for all allocated works

  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks that may arise from time to time as required.

 

We’re looking for:

 

  • HNC or equivalent in a CIS/Electrical/Data Telecommunications discipline

  • Experience in similar role

  • MOD CIDA trained

  • Experience of managing and delivering complex multi-disciplinary CIS and building services project works

  • Must be capable of fully satisfying the Client security clearance requirements for DV level and maintaining it.

  • Experience of both Fibre and Copper based Data/Telecommunications networks in a critical environment.

  • Excellent communication both written and verbal with excellent customer care.

  • Experience in and MOD CIS environment is desirable

  • Experience of working with and to JSP 604 leaflet 4800 is desirable

  • Knowledge of CDM 2015 and appropriate construction site safety training is desirable
