Sports Project Manager
We Are Social is a market-leading social creative agency – delivering innovative strategic thinking, creative ideas made for social channels and social content for a wide range of brands at a local and global level.
We produce a wide range of content, from brand and campaign strategy, video content, live streams, visual assets, events, innovation work (incl. Bots and Alexa Skills), stunts, playbooks, editorial content and social content strategies; either freestanding or as part of a larger ATL campaign.
We are now looking for a Sports-enthusiastic Project Manager to join our production team and work across our sports offering and sports accounts – bringing with them solid experience in delivering a varied selection of content for distribution in social channels, and with an enthusiasm to work in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same.
The Sports Project Manager will be the main delivery person for the WAS Sports team, and be responsible for delivering projects on an ongoing basis, collaborating closely with the Client Services and Creative team members within that team. You will draw on your existing knowledge and expertise of how to produce and deliver social content efficiently, including scoping and costing work, do feasibility and risk/mitigation assessments, book resources, and manage a fast-moving multi-disciplined team on a daily basis.
You need to be a natural and confident communicator, friendly and approachable with a good attention to detail and accuracy in all communication, whether internal or external. All WAS PMs are client facing, and the ability to build good client and third-party relationships will be part of the role. You also need to be a strong (project) team-manager, rallying the troops and ensuring the team meets deadlines and that relevant check-ins/ reviews happen throughout the project lifecycle. You will also be expected to ensure the necessary documentation for projects is produced, including SoWs, status reports, recces/finance updates, approvals in writing etc.
Whilst this is not a technically focussed role, previous commercial experience of and/or personal interest in working on digital builds (innovation work, Bots, Alexa Skills, web-builds), would be of advantage.
A large part of the role is focussed on content production including video production and live streaming. The Sports team already has its own Production team focussing solely on video production, but due to large volumes of work, support for the Production team is often needed. You will ideally have some previous Producer knowledge, i.e. how to prepare and attend/manage (social content) shoots, being able to support the internal creative/design teams and crew and help ensure shoots are properly planned and scoped by the Production team. Any previous experience/ involvement in outdoor events or doing live stunts is also a bonus as this is an avenue we’re getting more involved with in 2018.
Talent management experience is also a bonus as the Sports team work with big talent on an ongoing basis (both sports and non-sports related individuals), and the PM is jointly responsible (with Client Services and our in-house Legal support), to ensure that we not only manage all such individuals during shoots/events etc., – but also that we have all contractual agreements in place for every project.

Proven ‘traditional’ PM skills including writing/updating timing plans, budgets, SoWs/delivery plans, booking and managing resources and managing a project team
Supporting the video production team with projects, planning and job scoping
Take ownership of projects and see them through until completion
Strong head for finances, you know what a job takes in effort to deliver, and you stay on top of budgets throughout all your projects
Confident managing a variety of work intended for social platforms including social and editorial content, influencer work, events, video, experiential and innovation
Good social platform knowledge and understand what good social content is
Familiar with agency turn-around times and ways of working – good understanding of the dynamics of agency processes and enjoy the pace and challenges this brings
Proactive and good at foreseeing problems, with the ability to mitigate issues as soon as they are identified, - and know when to escalate issues
Detail oriented and takes responsibility for getting all parts of every job done

Agency & Finance Responsibilities
Ensure all documentation is per agency standards, all documentation is detailed and correct, and that the relevant templates/formats are being used
Ensure that internal cost approval processes are followed across all projects
Ensure that agency resources are used efficiently (i.e. booked resources)
Ensure all work is signed off at the right stages, by the right people (both internal sign-off, and client approvals, e.g. of creative ideas or video assets)
Become proficient in using the agency’s finance system (Workbook)
Do timesheets weekly and proactively ensure that other project team members also complete their timesheets in a timely fashion, allowing for accurate recces
Monitoring project costs and proactively communicate overruns/financial issues to your senior team member in a timely manner
