Project Manager - Breaking New Ground Project

£34,000 + Benefits (21 Month FTC)

Location: The Engine House, Swindon, SN2 2EH

Ref: 8680

Lead an ambitious public access project that celebrates a time of innovation within industry and our built environment in the second half of the twentieth century. Taking this significant project from concept to delivery, you will lead a team through conserving, digitising and cataloguing images, discovering real stories and developing learning resources. This is a rare opportunity for you to have a direct impact on both those who have lived through history and future generations through making our heritage more accessible.

As Project Manager, you will be setting up and leading our Breaking New Ground project - creating access to 10,000 images from the John Laing Trust archive. You will play a pivotal role engaging with colleagues across Historic England, John Laing Trust as well as guiding your multidisciplinary team to success. Delivering an outreach and engagement programme your team will work with primary schools and former Laing employees to tell the stories of the people who built and lived and worked in Laing buildings.

As a natural leader you will have experience managing multi-disciplinary teams inspiring others to achieve project objectives. The ability to manage multiple work streams and dependencies will be key to your success including developing robust project documentation. With experience in a similar purpose driven organisation, not necessarily the historic environment, you will have developed and delivered outreach projects.

Taking ownership of delivering this key project you will have real impact on people`s lives. We offer a wide benefits package including payment of a relevant professional membership subscription, a competitive pension scheme, 28 days holiday, corporate discounts, free entry into English Heritage sites as well as the flexibility in your working day to create a strong work-life balance.

Interviews will take place on the 6/7th of November in our Swindon Offices. If these dates are not convenient, please do let us know so that we can do our best to accommodate you.

We pride ourselves in building an inclusive working environment where your individuality will enable us to be successful. We are committed to having a recruitment experience that creates opportunity for all.

Closing date: 24 October 2018.
