Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager (in EWI/ Retrofit industry) to oversee the delivery of energy efficiency measures to residential and commercial properties across the UK.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in project management, a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, and excellent leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for a wide range of tasks including, but not limited to:
Project Delivery
- Oversee the operations of SMS on-site to meet company targets, including profit margins.
- Conduct site visits to develop comprehensive work plans.
- Produce and communicate risk assessments to the supply chain.
- Ensure safe and efficient access arrangements, including scaffolding.
- Monitor project progress to ensure timely completion within budget and to the highest standards.
- Ensure compliance with contractual processes and KPIs.
- Manage all project paperwork and documentation.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of energy efficiency measures, such as EWI, boiler upgrades, PV, loft insulation, glazing, roof replacements, roofline works, access management, and asbestos removal/management.
- Ensure all installations adhere to PAS requirements and evidence is submitted promptly for payment.
- Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders to enhance future business opportunities.
- Foster a positive customer experience through effective communication and complaint resolution.
Health & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and document findings.
- Adhere to relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
- Effectively manage subcontractors and the supply chain.
- Timely reporting of incidents, investigations, and closures.
- Deliver scheduled toolbox talks.
- Implement daily site shutdowns.
- Establish and manage a robust permit-to-work system.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date registers.
- Proactively manage personal development and ensure contractors are adequately trained and competent.
Skills Required
- Proven experience in project management, ideally within the construction or energy efficiency industry.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Other Requirements
- Best if based in the West Midlands region.
- Experience managing major energy efficiency and retrofit contracts.
- Ability to handle large-scale projects, such as the 400-home contract in Walsall.
- Proven ability to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
