The role sits within the Project Support team, focusing on one of our major geographic hubs but you may be supporting any part of the WSP UK business. You will report to a Project Support Manager (PSM) but with key interfaces with Project Directors, Project Managers and your Business Finance colleagues. The primary responsibility of the Project Co-Ordinator is to support Project Directors/Managers in the proper financial management of their projects, in accordance with the Business Management System and WSPs accounting policies.
A typical month would include:
Project conversion based on use of standard approval matrix, including ensuring validity of data as principal data guardian,
Project Setup and updating including day to day support for Project Directors/Managers; including checking Work Order structure is sensible and setting up those work orders
Monitoring time recording completeness and accuracy " working with Project Directors/Managers. Including time movements as necessary.
General project accounting duties including reviewing work in progress reports to identify which projects require billing and working with relevant Project Directors/Managers to ensure this is done (on an exception basis in agreement with Discipline Finance team).
Raising invoices and Applications for Payment (AfP)
Provision of project financial information " where not covered by regular Business World reports
Provision of project specific assistance in co-ordination with Business Finance, and/or adhoc duties necessary to support designated cost centres
A background in Finance or Administrative support (Professional services or Construction industry experience would be an advantage)
Great communication skills, both written and verbal
Good IT skills including MS Excel, and a relevant ERP system (Business World, SAP etc)
A positive mindset and resilient can do attitude
Able to work to strict deadlines, both independently and as part of a larger team.
