An experienced Project Manager is required to join a talented team within the Maritime Engineering sector. Preferably you will be from a Defence / Commercial Defence or Engineering background to join an established North Devon based company. Delivering complex manufacturing and critical solutions.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day Operational Performance oversight. You will be integral to delivering innovative Project Management solutions to support further growth opportunities pursued by the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver key project management functions in support of overall project delivery including financial, schedule, quality, and risk functions.
  • Communicating with stakeholders on the progress of the project and capturing stakeholder requirements and needs.
  • Creating, monitoring, and managing Customer demands in an ERP system to meet the contractual delivery KPI targets.
  • Responsible for the management of Post Design Services requested by the Customer within the agreed triple constraints including reporting performance to the Customer and the Director of Projects.
  • Responsible for developing strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, suppliers to capture, analyse and achieve customer requirements.
  • Creating monthly project progress (for both internal and external stakeholders) to update schedules in line with project reporting timelines and best practice.
  • Oversee variable aspects of the project and provide direct assistance to ensure timely project execution.
  • Applying effective risk management throughout the project life cycle to mitigate the risk of project failure
  • Planning and scheduling of project activities including resource levelling and smoothing

Professional Skills / Abilities

• Able to establish strong relationships with key stakeholders across the business.

• Good understanding of the Engineering life cycle

• Must be self-motivated with a flexible approach to workload.

• Excellent I.T. Skills (Microsoft Project)

• Strong attention to detail (essential).

• Strong Commercial skills

• Schedule development and understanding

Experience & Qualifications

• Educated to Degree Level Qualification (Highly Desirable)

• Membership of a relevant professional body e.g APM or PRINCE

• Full Driving Licence and willingness to travel.
