Job Title: Operations Manager
Location: Derbyshire
Salary: Circa GBP50k DOE + Benefits
Job Description:
As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the electrical team, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest standards, and the department runs smoothly and efficiently. This role is critical for managing resources, and implementing strategies and process that align with the company s goals and objectives set by the Operations Director. This position plays a key role in improving operational performance, leading teams, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the overall success and growth of the business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee line management duties, including onboarding, absence, and performance management.
- Lead operational meetings and manage daily operational tasks, planning, and administrative activities.
- Produce monthly operations reports.
- Plan, direct, and coordinate operations to ensure labour planning is efficient and compliant.
- Plan and manage training requirements for staff.
- Identify and implement process improvements for operational efficiency.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
- Conduct site visits to meet operational requirements.
- Lead recruitment and selection processes.
- Manage sub-contractor staff and daily operations, including inventory management and logistics.
- Review and manage the apprenticeship program.
- Review health & safety audits and manage necessary actions.
- Control budgets related to training, PPE, and equipment expenditures.
- Identify quality control issues and suggest solutions.
- Ensure efficient labour utilization across all work streams, meeting KPIs set by the Operations Director.
- Effectively manage daily operations tasks, ensuring all regulatory tasks are completed and non-conformities are addressed.
- Ensure 100% compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Monitor employee performance, providing coaching and feedback to enhance productivity and ensure PDPs are up to date.
- Ensure the operations team achieves 100% compliance with inspection, testing, certification, and reporting processes.
- Maintain full health, safety, and environmental compliance.
- Manage budgets as detailed by the Operations Director.
Qualifications/Skills/Experience:
- Experience managing Electrical Engineers and supervising teams.
- Leadership & management qualifications preferred.
- Proven track record of process improvement.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
