Associate Mechanical Design Engineer/Project Manager

One of the world’s top engineering consultancies are looking for a top-quality, experienced, bright and innovative engineer with an excellent grounding in design but who is keen to step away from day-to-day design and get more involved in management of the design aspects of MEP projects.

A little different from a standard consultancy design role, you will be responsible for managing the project during design stage; co-ordinating the wider design team (both within the company and external consultants); agreeing and devising programmes, deciding and negotiating fees, and related work. It will be a highly people-facing role involving a lot of interaction between different professionals and stakeholders, managing different entities differing requirements and capabilities, and acting as the main face of the project to the client.

The necessary experience is likely to come from at least 10 years’ experience in a large multi-disciplinary engineering design consultancy, working on large-scale projects. You must have seen the complexities of multi-disciplinary aspects of projects up close and in detail and be confident that you understand the process of delivering these projects as well as the potential pitfalls and solutions.
