Job Advert: Senior Project Manager

We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our client, a leading banking organisation based in London. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a crucial leadership role and be responsible for managing multiple workstream leads within the organisation.

In this role, you will primarily focus on managing a project related to offshoring/outsourcing. Your key responsibilities will include overseeing the transition of services during the offshoring process, ensuring controlled and effective management. Additionally, you will utilise your expertise in Programme, Change, and Project Management to drive and deliver regulatory change objectives across EMEA SMBC entities, meeting required standards, timelines, and budgets while minimising impact on the business.

To be successful in this role, you should possess a degree-level education and have obtained industry recognised modern programme and project management qualifications such as MSP, PMP, or APM. Change Management qualifications, such as APMG or ADKAR, would also be desirable.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across the organisation, managing long-term, high-risk projects that are crucial for the business. You will be accountable for the entire project lifecycle, ensuring alignment with SMBC objectives and delivering outcomes aligned with business profiles. Your ability to effectively lead and motivate diverse teams, anticipate and mitigate risks, and navigate complex regulatory frameworks will be essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional EMEA-wide programme and/or project teams
  • Manage the project lifecycle and budget in line with SMBC Methodology
  • Influence, motivate, and manage diverse teams across the organisation
  • Plan and drive completion of outcomes and deliverables
  • Identify and escalate risks and issues to C-level sponsors and appropriate committees
  • Ensure governance and transparency across all deliverables
  • Achieve compliance and withstand regulatory scrutiny
  • Rapidly adapt to ongoing change during the project lifecycle
  • Mentor and guide junior staff, manage contract/temporary staff
  • Build and support effective information dialogue across EMEA

The successful candidate will have previous experience managing similar offshoring/outsourcing projects in the financial services industry. They will possess a strong understanding of the surrounding regulatory framework and financial markets. Proven experience in delivering complex transformation projects within financial services, alignment with corporate objectives, effective team leadership, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills are crucial for this role.

Our client offers a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as the opportunity to work within a dynamic and collaborative team. If you are a skilled and motivated Project Manager with a passion for driving change and delivering successful outcomes, we encourage you to apply.
