The Role

As Engineering Services Manager you will be responsible for a cross-functional engineering team, and for the management of the customer relationships within the UK MoD – with budget responsibility for order intake and sales.

Lead and develop a large team of 100+ mechanical and electrical engineers through planning and career development solutions and resource deployment and rotation.

Reporting to the MD, and as a senior member of the Engineering Leadership Team, you will be collectively responsible for the delivery of business outcomes and strategic development.

The Person

An experienced Engineering Manager, with a proven and successful track record in programme delivery, you will have developed your experience within the aerospace & defence sector, or a related engineering-led environment such as the nuclear, rail, utilities, infrastructure and construction markets. Experience of delivering programmes for the MOD or UK Government is highly desirable.

You will provide inspirational direction to a culturally diverse group of engineers working on major programme delivery in a time sensitive, safety critical, high precision and complex engineering environment. Your experience will include:

  • Degree qualified or APMP member (or equivalent) in a project management, engineering or equivalent relevant discipline.
  • Programme and project management leadership with multiple products and services experience, and successful track record of managing a portfolio of activity to deliver financial outcomes (order intake, sales, cash and margin).
  • Customer and supplier relationship management experience, including developing strategic partnerships, business development and bid experience, and budget delivery.
  • Extensive management experience for multiple teams of internal and external programme management professionals (including cross discipline teams of electrical, mechanical, process & tool calibration).

The role offers an excellent Salary & Benefits Package.
