Your opportunity
Operating from within Animal Science of Agri-Science Queensland you will be involved in providing support to Animal Science business management and managing and processing low value fee for service, non-monetary contracts and other business related agreements.

Key duties and accountabilities:• Proactively manage and undertake administrative tasks relating to internal reporting processes for Animal Science to meet departmental requirements• Engage in verbal and written negotiations with Animal Science and other DAF staff regarding the preparation, management and administration of reporting requirements• Develop and maintain effective networks within DAF (particularly Corporate group), in order to contribute to the efficient management of internal reporting• Identify opportunities and develop innovative options for managing program reporting and administrative responsibilitiesContract management • Engage in verbal and written negotiations with internal and external clients regarding the processing of contracts related to Fee for Service, Copyright, Visitor, Volunteer and Work Experience activities and other business related agreements• Manage the internal approval process for the activities underpinned by these contracts and oversee contract execution• Manage the input of project and contractual related data into the Portfolio Activity Reporting Information System (PARIS) to ensure a high standard of data integrity is maintained• Contribute to the development and achievement of project management performance benchmarks in relation to the processing of legal contacts, project documentation and project paymentsAnimal Science SharePoint site• Manage, coordinate and update the Animal Science SharePoint siteCoordination of Fisheries Queensland Stock Assessment reports on DAF internet• Proof-reading and ensuring compliance to Corporate templates and protocols• Ensuring appropriate approvals have been obtained (i.e. Ministerial, Fisheries Queensland and Director)• Liaising with Research Information Service, Corporate Communications and Web Services for publishing on the DAF internetGeneral• Achieve work targets & set & adhere to work deadlines & directives• Adhere to the Department's Code of Conduct, including the principles & practices of employment equity, ethical conduct & workplace health and safety• Assist with contracts/projects as directed by the Business Manager Animal Science• Provide intermittent administrative support to the Animal Science Directors, Regional Manager (Beef and Sheep - South) & Beef and Sheep extension staff as requiredKey capabilities • Demonstrated ability, or the ability to rapidly acquire high standard of computing skills to research, analyse and report on data relating to contracts, project management, finance processing, document management and administration(Functional/Technical Skills)• High standard of writing skills to clearly communicate and convey information in terms of reporting, contractual negotiations and project management, to achieve the desired effect(Written Communications)• High level of communication & interpersonal skills, relate well to people at all levels, use diplomacy & tact, use sound judgment on sensitive & confidential issues, build constructive & effective relationships(Interpersonal Savvy)• Establish priorities to organise/optimise work flow, through effective use of workplace systems & processes & collaboration with colleagues to meet strict deadlines & produce quality outcomes & achieve results(Organising Time & Process Management)• Proven ability to work autonomously or as a member of a team, with minimal supervision(Action Oriented)
