The company are delivering high profile and complex schemes across the public and private sector and team in Cardiff have an interesting opportunity for a Project Manager/Principal Engineer/ Team Leader to join their joint venture company. 
The successful candidate will act as project manager for the Joint Venture schemes and manage all aspects of highways and transportation schemes both internally and externally with their JV clients.

Essential Qualifications/Experience/Skills

A professional qualification in Engineering (or transportation-related discipline).
10+ years' experience of managing highways and transport schemes (in particular the Weltag Process).
Extensive experience in Program or large-scale Project Management.
Significant leadership experience delivering feasibility design, construction and/or infrastructure programs; OR
Significant demonstrated leadership experience in delivering successful WelTAG based transport studies.

Desirable Qualifications/Experience/Skills

Experience in working with Local Authority clients.

The Individual: An experienced project manager/engineer, specialising in the practical assessment, evaluation and development of both minor & major highways projects, together with transportation schemes

The ability to scope, define and evaluate major highways and transport schemes relating to the Weltag/Webtag Process;
Program manage the development and delivery of the strategic business case and feasibility plans;
Ability to provide technical strategy advice and forge links with other key stakeholders;
Wide-ranging experience of leading pre-feasibility work, ranging from area-wide transport/economic Master Planning to corridor investment strategies;
Leadership of business cases, including initial outline schemes under devolved regional funding arrangements linked to growth and regeneration;
High-level communication skills and a proven capacity for successful negotiation, consultation and stakeholder management with clients, team members, and the community.
Role Responsibilities

Develop and manage a small team of engineering/transportation professionals.
Manage transport related projects from conceptual stages through all phases of the approval process through Outline Business Case (OBC) approval for its projects based on the Five Case Model (HM Treasury Green Book) and/or Weltag/Webtag Process.
Have technical responsibility for the development of transport/highway schemes within the JV.
Provide project management functions including the financial management of projects, assistance with the bids and submissions to the JV Clients
Present information at internal meetings on the project; and provide regular updates to the Client Service Manager.
