To meet our growing UK business needs and future development aspirations we are looking for an experienced Project Manager.

Our Environment, Maritime and Resilience business provides a focus for advising our clients on sustainability issues including renewable energy, low carbon economies, impacts of climate change and waste and resource management. Our environmental capabilities comprise of in excess of 1000 staff based predominantly in the UK, but with reach into the Middle East and in India.

We are seeking a Project Manager to support a diverse range of projects for clients in major public and private sector organisations and will become part of a respected and ambitious company with excellent career prospects and international opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • You will be managing projects for local authorities, water companies and major infrastructure clients and you will also work with other disciplines within the group to deliver projects for key framework clients.

  • Project management on a variety of water environment and engineering programmes and projects, taking responsibility for the safe delivery of our projects to meet programme and budget requirements, whilst maintaining high quality standards.

  • Contract administration, including invoicing, forecasting, schedule management, QA documentation.

  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of your project team

  • Planning and scheduling work

  • Identifying and managing risk and change

  • Reporting on performance

  • Chairing internal and client project meetings

  • Management and development of more junior colleagues in the team

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing contracts and support sales opportunities across the wider business.

The minimum qualifications for this position are:

  • High quality degree relevant to the water environment

  • Proven project management knowledge in environmental/water projects

  • Chartered or Incorporated through a relevant Professional Institution

  • Good understanding of the technical work undertaken in the water environment sector

  • Proven ability of project managing a variety of project types and sizes across a range of sectors

  • Able to operate autonomously, with authority, skilled in developing and building relationships

  • Demonstrable knowledge of working with private and public sector clients

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to identify client requirements and scope wider business opportunities

  • Ability to use Microsoft Project to write and manage project schedules

  • Demonstrable knowledge of working under a range of contract forms, in particular NEC

  • Demonstrable knowledge of undertaking earned value analysis on projects

  • Demonstrable knowledge of writing project quality and delivery plans

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:

  • APM Project Management Qualification or PRINCE2 Practitioner

  • Ability to use Primavera to write and manage project schedules

  • Proven ability of leading and winning new tender opportunities
