Role Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Freelance Project Manager to oversee a utilities and civils project in the heart of London. This individual will be responsible for managing the entire project lifecycle, ensuring it meets all deadlines, quality standards, and budgetary constraints. Ideal candidates are proactive, able to conduct detailed 2-week forward planning, and thrive in a hands-on role, leading by example as the first on-site and the last to leave each day.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Management: Oversee all stages of the project, ensuring objectives are met from initiation through to completion.
- Program Planning & Scheduling: Conduct 2-week forward planning to keep the project on track, coordinating closely with subcontractors to address upcoming work and needs.
- Subcontractor Coordination: Manage and liaise with all subcontractors, fostering clear communication and accountability to ensure timely and high-quality work.
- On-Site Leadership: Maintain a strong on-site presence, being the first to arrive and the last to leave, setting a high standard for the project team.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations and site protocols.
- Issue Resolution: Identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively to avoid project delays or increased costs.
- Progress Reporting: Provide regular updates to stakeholders, highlighting achievements, upcoming milestones, and any potential risks.
Requirements
- Proven experience in project management within utilities and civil engineering, particularly with urban or high-density projects.
- Excellent knowledge of scheduling, planning, and coordination with the ability to execute detailed forward planning.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and motivate subcontractors.
- Full understanding of health and safety regulations on construction sites.
- Availability to start immediately and commit to the project for the full duration.
