Looking for a new adventure, both professionally and personally? Interested in living within a thriving community, set in a stunning natural environment?

If you’re an experienced Project and Programme professional who is interested in an exciting next career step, we have the job for you.

The Role

The Falkland Islands Government has secured significant funding of some £110m to deliver an ambitious capital programme over the coming years. Development & Commercial Services is a key enabler to delivering major projects, and a key function within this is Programme Management, which monitors and manages the whole of the Government’s capital programme.

Your role will support the successful delivery of the Islands Plan; managing the delivery of FIG’s capital programme and major projects to ensure planned benefits are realised.

Reporting to the Director and Deputy Director of Development & Commercial Services, with line management responsibility for the Programme Support Assistant, you will liaise with senior stakeholders across the organisation to manage efficient delivery of the capital programme, as well as supporting specific major projects within Development & Commercial Services.

The Person

We are looking for a highly motivated programme professional, who can demonstrate a strong track record of successfully managing and delivering large-scale, high profile capital programmes and major projects. You will have proven success in using recognised programme and project management approaches (e.g. Managing Successful Programmes, Prince 2) to manage and deliver capital programmes. Knowledge and experience of major construction projects would be advantageous.

In return for your professional high standards and hard work, we offer an unparalleled opportunity to make a significant contribution to the economic and social development of the Falkland Islands. If you recognise yourself in this description, have a sense of adventure and a true desire to make a difference, this is the job for you.

  • Salary Range £40,610 to £54,929. Starting salary will be dependent upon qualifications and experience.
  • Eligibility for a 25% Gratuity, paid upon successful completion of the contract.
  • 30 Days Annual Leave, plus government and public holidays (totalling 41 days leave).
  • Relocation Allowance, to help with moving costs.
  • Flights Package for you and your recognised dependents, including mid-term return flight home.
  • Government Housing for rent and a starter pack to help you settle in.
