Manufacturing printed aluminium cans and can ends across 20 plants in 15 European countries, their innovative approaches allows them to offer a diverse portfolio of products and added value finishes, special effects and graphics.  Their vision is to make the can the most sustainable package in the beverage supply chain.

In line with their continued successful growth strategy, Ball Beverage Packaging are now seeking to recruit an Innovation Project Engineering Manager who will be responsible for capturing, co-ordinating and executing both existing and new innovation projects linked to product, process, machinery and capex development. This will involve providing structure and stability to the Project Management and Stage Gate process in the UK/ Europe and close liaison with US Headquartered, Global Innovation Team, to bridge regional needs with project pipeline initiatives.

The role will involve 25-50% travel to manufacturing sites and a blue-chip beverage customer base, in both the UK and Europe, working closely with regional Marketing and Business Development teams to identify, enable and capture opportunities for innovations within the region. You will provide technical support and facilitate technical and engineering meetings with brand owners to identify new commercial opportunities as well as deploying new Innovations and Commercial Technology Expansions from HQ/ other regions.

           

Candidates will ideally be degree qualified in a technical/engineering subject, with strong project management ability and experience gained in a similar customer facing, project engineering/ technical/engineering/technical sales role. This experience will ideally have been gained in the metal beverage/ broader packaging sector, or possibly within a major food/beverage manufacturing company.

Key to success will be a customer-focussed mindset, the ability to communicate and influence stakeholders at all levels, skills in business case development and experience in working in a matrix team environment, focused on providing solutions and innovation.
