We are currently seeking applications for three Project Managers within the Directorate for Communications, Ministerial Support and Facilities based in Edinburgh. This is a permanent and pensionable appointment and new entrants will normally start on the minimum of the pay range. Candidates with a disability who meet the essential criteria below will be invited to the assessments.

The Scottish Government (SG) Facilities Projects Team has responsibility for procuring and managing building-related projects and move management across the estate of the core SG. The estate comprises a wide variety of building types located at around 70 sites across mainland Scotland and the islands.

The primary means of procuring works is through the SG’s maintenance contractor but collaborative working across a number of internal stakeholders is also required. Stakeholders include our House Teams, our Environmental Management Team and the Scottish Procurement and Commercial Directorate.

The Projects Team oversees the delivery of a programme of works and move management which is valued at c. £4.0 million per annum. Two Project Managers will be assigned projects within this programme and will monitor contractor delivery through a range of measures to ensure that the projects are delivered on time, to budget and to an acceptable quality.

Under its Smarter Workplaces Programme (SWP), the SG is undertaking large scale transformation projects to make its workspaces more flexible and responsive to everyone’s needs. The third Project Manager will work with SWP to support our SG2020 vision to make the SG an organisation which can respond to changing demands and get the best experience and value from our facilities.
