About Us:

With one million people passing through Westminster every day, it is vital that we think innovatively to make this incredible part of London everything that it can be. We therefore need to find the perfect balance between encouraging trade and footfall through our streets, while considering the impact on the environment. We want to support local residents in their business and lifestyle needs, while enhancing the social and tourist side of the city – so the contribution of Cross River Partnership (CRP) has never been more important. As a not-for-profit organisation, CRP is ultimately committed to making London a nicer and healthier place to live, work and visit. Comprised of 7 central London local authorities and 16 business improvement districts, this public-private partnership is committed to delivering projects that will have a beneficial impact on London’s communities, economy and environment.

The Role:

The Project Support Assistant plays a vital part in CRP’s work. Providing the Project and Programme Managers with technical and administrative support to enable their individual challenges to be successfully delivered, you will be the go-to person for a huge variety of public, private and third sector stakeholders. Each day will present you with new tasks to be completed, puzzles to solve and support to be offered. Looking for ways to improve how we work, you will maintain our systems, processes and procedures, while prioritising the needs of a colourful array of challenges.

Crucially, you will have the confidence to engage with businesses and influence a change in their behaviour on topics such as the improvement of air quality and carbon reduction. Setting up workshops, meetings and events, you will also conduct desk-based research, develop marketing materials and carry out a range of ad hoc projects. While one day might see you taking on the practical side of the projects – such as raising purchase orders, collating timesheets and managing diaries – another day might see you get involved in income and debt management, updating the website and following up on actions agreed in workshops.

Hugely varied and deeply interesting, this is a challenge that you can really sink your teeth into.

About You:

This is a unique opportunity to enhance your skills and widen your experience by working with a range of multi-sector stakeholders across a broad spectrum of innovative projects. As such, you will excel in the role if you have a can-do attitude, with great customer-service and verbal and written communication skills, plus the capacity to handle challenging situations. Highly-organised, you will use your previous administrative experience in an office environment to manage competing priorities, while completing your tasks to the highest standards. You will need to be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher and Outlook, and your data-entry skills will be complemented by the ability to maintain paper-based records. This is a real team-effort, so you will also need to be highly collaborative with a flexible and adaptable approach to your work.

What We Offer:

Joining us in our newly-refurbished offices, this is a great chance to explore what you are capable of across a range of fast-paced challenges. Our people are passionate about delivering positive and long-lasting change, so your input will be widely welcomed. In a workplace where your ideas and opinions will be respected, we will support your long-term ambitions with training and progression opportunities, while your immediate future will be taken care of with a competitive benefits package and a solid work/life balance. So join our friendly and inclusive team, and push the boundaries of your future.
