The Care Quality Commission (CQC) is the independent regulator of health and social care in England. Our purpose is to make sure health and social care services provide people with safe, effective, compassionate and high-quality care.

Striving for excellence, we have an ambitious vision to take a more targeted, responsive and collaborative approach to regulation so more people get high-quality care.  As a catalyst for improvement, we are seeking to appoint a Programme Director on an interim basis to shape the next chapter of our journey.  Reporting to the Director of Transformation, the Programme Director will be responsible for determining the type of organisation we want to become, translating strategy into tangible change, aligning people, systems, processes and culture to create a high performing, innovative organisation capable of continual adaption.

An inspirational engaging leader, you have the integrity, resilience and resourcefulness to make change happen, no matter how challenging. Whilst you do not need to have detailed experience of health and social care, you will have a strong track record of driving strategy execution through operating model design and implementation, as well as being a credible communicator, capable of influencing direction at senior executive level.

As our new Programme Director, you will build and motivate exceptional teams and work collaboratively with Leaders and colleagues to deliver the organisation’s core purpose. Underpinning all of the above, we expect you to be committed to CQC’s values of Excellence, Caring, Integrity and Teamwork.
