Here at FCO Services, we have a far-reaching remit - providing technology, property, logistics and security services to support the UK’s interests. We work worldwide, in embassies and high commissions, with the UK government, agencies, and friendly foreign governments.

Sitting across all our services is our Central Planning department. The teams here look after planning for the whole portfolio, and support the full lifecycle of projects in Secure Global Services and Global Digital Technology. Project resourcing, management information, assurance, quality and co-ordination - Central Planning is our focal point. It’s their ability to look beyond that ensures success for the whole organisation, at home and overseas.

Improve project efficiencies across our business

Working closely with both our customer teams and our internal delivery teams, you’ll take a holistic view of our project planning processes, identifying potential enhancements and efficiencies and helping to develop an integrated approach across FCO Services. This will involve analysing individual projects and plans and the standards that underpin them, as well as tracking trends and changes across plans using baselines from project assurance specialists. You’ll also be responsible for supporting complex projects, and for creating and maintaining high-level plans for the business as a whole.

Put your planning skills to the test

Your ability to manage relationships and communicate with people will be critical in this role, as you liaise closely with our project managers, filling in gaps, identifying areas for improvement, and influencing how they approach project planning in the future. That’s on top of preferably having strong project management expertise yourself, which should include a track record of coordinating and consolidating complex project plans. Strong analytical and stakeholder management skills are also essential.

Enhance our organisation and your own career

There are unique challenges to be found everywhere at FCO Services. And our enterprise-wide planning unit is no exception. Join us, and you can use your expert knowledge of project and programme management to drive efficiencies within a highly complex, multi-stakeholder environment. The benefits are pretty unparalleled too, with flexible working, an on-site nursery, a salary-related pension, and more. And at the end of every day, you’ll know that you’ve contributed to broader work that protects people, assets, and information all over the world. In short, it’s your job, bigger.

All our employees have to be security cleared so you will need to undergo a vetting process before joining.
