Programme Manager

Are you a dynamic, influential and collaborative individual with a proven track record in supporting the development and delivery of ambitious and fast paced programmes. Do you have a passion for practical innovation and improving public services?

If so, Nesta is looking for a Programme Manager to join our Y Lab team, where you will also work closely with our national People Powered Results team to deliver an innovation programme that embeds Arts into the Health and Care system in Wales.

About Nesta and Y Lab

Nesta is an innovation foundation. For us, innovation means turning bold ideas into reality and changing lives for the better.  We use our expertise, skills and funding in areas where there are big challenges facing society. Nesta is based in the UK and supported by a financial endowment.  We work with partners around the globe to bring bold ideas to life to change the world for good.

Y Lab is the public service innovation lab for Wales, where we run programmes that support the creation, testing and implementation of new ideas and undertake research that drives better innovation in public services. One of our programmes involves understanding how arts interventions can play a more prominent role in the health and wellbeing of the people of Wales and where new ideas are needed to make this happen.

Following a period of research and engagement with people working across arts and health, we’ve decided to take a People Powered Results approach to this programme. Place-based and people-focused, this approach empowers and connects those closest to delivery to drive change over 100 days.

About this exciting opportunity

Working closely with the relevant Nesta and Y Lab teams, our successful candidate will take the lead on People Powered Results programmes, including design and delivery, as well as scoping projects and opportunities with senior leaders and collaborating on programme design. You will also be expected to:

  • Design, plan and facilitate workshops using rapid testing, user-centred design and systems thinking
  • Coach, facilitate and support teams of frontline practitioners and people with lived experience to have helpful conversations, reach their full potential and be able to share their narrative and impact
  • Build capacity in coaching and facilitation skills, with external partners as part of the delivery of programmes
  • Develop productive relationships with stakeholders across the arts and health sectors
  • Ensure that projects are communicated effectively, identify target audiences and develop strategies to engage and influence them

What we are looking for

You will have a sound knowledge of the arts and/or health and social care in Wales – or the ability to learn quickly and apply experience from related fields, plus extensive experience of designing and delivering innovation and improvement programmes in a public service context and of change and innovation methods and tools.  A natural collaborator and outstanding communicator, both verbal and written, you will also possess strong facilitation, programme management and coaching skills, while excellent interpersonal skills are also vital.

Closing date: 16th October 2019 (08:00 am). First interviews will be held on 25th October 2019.
