We are seeking a senior manager to support the development and growth of our Legal Operations and Transformation Services (LOTS) practice. The applicant will:
Provide subject matter expertise and industry insights to our clients undergoing legal transformation
Support with the strategic direction and focus of the LOTS practice
Support and oversee the development of go-to-market strategies, collateral, methodologies and alliance partner relationships
Manage and oversee complex, multi-national engagements for our clients comprising of multi-disciplinary teams
This is a new role and there is huge opportunity for a candidate to come in, make a big impact on the function and shape the role
LEADERSHIP & MANAGEMENT:
The role will report directly into the head of Legal Operations and Transformation Services. The primary objective will be to support her to help shape and grow service offerings and supporting methodologies within the Practice.
As the team and business grows, the candidate will be expected to have a leadership role and take on responsibilities to support the development of people and culture within the team, ensuring continuous development and support for their direct reports.
The candidate will also be expected to take on responsibilities related to business development, marketing and communications, headcount, resource and revenue planning and forecasting to feed in to the wider LOTS business.
STAKEHOLDER INTERACTION & CHALLENGES:

Candidates will be expected to have a strong track record at engaging with stakeholders across all seniorities across multiple sectors and industries. Experience and success in persuasively engaging the C Suite of clients is essential.
Candidates will need to manage both internal and external stakeholders self-sufficiently as part of on-going engagements and through business and strategic development.
IMPACT, RISK, ACCOUNTABILITY & GOVERNANCE:

This role will assist in the growth and development of the LOTS practice, and Legal Services as a whole by extension.
The successful candidate will help with the strategic direction, growth and development of the practice and service offerings in LOTS. The candidate will be responsible for governing and overseeing the risk and quality of the work performed by their team and those supporting on their engagements.
EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL:

Experience in implementing transformation strategies within an in-house legal function
Subject Matter Expert related to the development of legal target operating models, RACIs, Sourcing strategies and Service Catalogues
Well versed in the challenges facing and solutions available to legal functions (e.g. spend and bandwidth management, matter management, contract lifecycle management, cost reduction, workforce agility and evolving service models)
Must have some experience working within an in-house legal function but do not necessarily need to be legally qualified
DESIRABLE:

Experience engaging with other support office functions such as HR, Finance and procurement
Experience with technology solutions and digitisation programmes and initiatives
Experience working across multiple sectors and industries
THE PERSON
EXPERTISE / TECHNICAL ROLE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum of 7 years PQE and should include at least 3 years' experience as either a General Counsel or Operations Director for a large in-house legal function
A project management qualification would be desirable but not essential
SKILLS:

Communication skills and persuasive writing
Go-to-market proposition development
Engagement management
Internal and external stakeholder management
Experience in communicating and influencing senior stakeholders
Consulting expertise to engage with legal teams (and coaching others to do the same
Proficiency in managing large engagement teams and ensuring consistent, top quality, deliverables
Direct experience executing and/or leading teams executing complex programmes or transformation initiatives
Training and coaching members of the team. Performing QA of written and technical deliverables ahead of internal and external review
