We’re a global charitable foundation, both politically and financially independent. We support scientists and researchers, take on big problems, fuel imaginations and spark debate. Our funding supports over 14,000 people in more than 70 countries. In the next five years, we aim to spend up to £5 billion helping thousands of curious, passionate people all over the world explore ideas in science, population health, medical innovation, the humanities and social sciences and public engagement.

We have a £26 billion investment portfolio which funds all the work we do. This portfolio is managed by our investment team which is the sole provider of the income for the Trust.  Within the investments team at Wellcome we have a £1.2bn residential property portfolio which requires regular refurbishments.  We are also undertaking several large projects which will last for at least two years. 

As a result we are now looking for an experienced project manager on a 2-year fixed term contract to take responsibility for the delivery of our residential refurbishment projects.

In this role you will:

  •  Oversee our external project managers’ successful delivery of all our residential property refurbishments to time, quality and budget.
  • Implement appropriate risk registers and effective risk management measures
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks
  • Communicate progress and any changes or decisions to the relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure all documentation Is in place and compliant
  • Review and approve licence applications from leaseholders and recommended by the managing agents

To be successful in this role you will have a proven track record of successfully leading complex residential refurbishment programmes from inception to completion and managing external teams, preferably in London. You will also be educated to degree level in a relevant area or hold a professional qualification such as RICS/RIBA.
