Job Details
The role of the Change Control Manager is to manage the production and collation of all Census & Data Collection Transformation Programme project Requests For Change. In order to achieve this, the post holder provides agile and flexible support to the project managers and project teams in the timely and accurate delivery of their RFCs and manages the RFC recording and evaluation process. The post holder will need to develop excellent personal relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
The post holder is also responsible for the effective management of the programme’s Decisions and Assumptions databases. This requires the effective and efficient capture, storage, retrieval and dissemination of information from various sources across the programme. The post holder will need to develop a good understanding of the programme and proactively seek out information as well as ensure information sent to them is recorded accurately.
Reporting directly to the Risk, Control & Change Lead the Change Control Manager will:
- Work with stakeholders to ensure the protocols for managing and documenting all requests that alter the scope of a project (including benefits realisation) are well established and understood within the programme.
- Provide hands-on support to project managers and project teams to understand and plan information management activities with a particular emphasis on Change Control, Decisions and Assumptions.
- Work with programme and project managers to ensure all the necessary information for change control requests is clear and available at the relevant boards.
- Ensure that changes are clearly communicated to the relevant stakeholders across the programme.
- Develop processes and procedures to facilitate the effective and timely review of Requests for Change.
- Provide templates and guidance on Change Control, Decisions and Assumptions processes and documentation.
- Lead on the programme’s information management plan for project and programme Decisions and Assumptions.
- Link up different teams within the programme to maximise shared experience of activities.
- Provide Change and/or Decisions and Assumptions reports and briefings to programme boards as required.
- Clarify the content of Decisions and Assumptions submissions with authors when not clear.
- Disseminate lessons learned within the programme and wider community.
- Develop peer networks across the Department.
